Christmas Art and Craft Market

11 December 2021, 10am-2pm

I needed to rediscover my community and the people in my life, and the world around me who love art. Those who want to support it.

This latest lockdown made me realise how much I cannot survive without making. It allows me the most joy; even when challenging, I need it to thrive. Moreover, in conversations with friends and family, our creative outlets allow us time to sit with ourselves and produce something purely for the sake of the process.

I wanted to bring this spirit, share the joy with my community. I called on my very talented friends, and with support from the council, we were on our way. I hope the market created an atmosphere where we felt like we could thrive in our art practice. In turn, the market patrons felt just how much we loved being out there and interacting with them.

The Vendors

These Fantastic People! I am so inspired by the other creative people in my life.

Emma Ward, the woman behind the incredible quirky and sculptural TRIKL. Candles.

Georgia Byers, one of my oldest friends and the maker of funky silver jewellery of Luney Gee.

Brooke Van Der Linden, an incredible visual artist who specialises in textile and collage, creates these fantastically witty Frump acrylic jewellery.

Thank you

This market would not have been possible without the support of the Yarra City Council.

As part of my application process, we were asked to consult and gain community approval, they came through. It was an excellent opportunity to empower my fellow makers and meet with people we have all been disconnected from for the last two years.
